Another Eau Claire Fitness Center Gains Momentum
A local fitness center is looking towards the sky to expand business.
This week, the Eau Claire City Council rezoned part of the Sky Park Industrial Center to allow Momentum Sport Fitness to develop a 20,000 square foot human performance center. The owner says it would target children, athletes and people recovering from surgeries. He's also hoping to build an outdoor obstacle course on site.
Kurt Mattison, owner of Momentum Sport Fitness says, "It just involves a lot of jumping, pushing, pulling, climbing... all those kinds of activities. We've worked with the local county SWAT team some and we'd like to get them involved if it works out. We could help them develop some training programs... and for firefighters as well."
The plan commission still needs to approve the design plans. The owner hopes to have the facility open by February.
