The former manager of Wellness Works Fitness Center in Solon will have to register as a Tier I sex offender when he gets out of jail at the end of July.

Bedford Municipal Court Judge Peter J. Junkin found David Hargraves, 25, of Streetsboro, guilty Wednesday afternoon of one count of voyeurism, a second degree misdemeanor.

Hargraves was sentenced to 90 days in the county jail but Junkin suspended 60 days of that sentence.

Hargraves will have to register where he lives with the county sheriff for the next 15 years, Junkin said, after the sentencing.

The victim was also present when Hargraves was in court yesterday.

Junkin told Hargraves that he was not to have contact with the victim after he was released and, should he violate that, Junkin will send him back to jail to serve the rest of the sentence.

Hargraves was the manager of the fitness center on Jan. 26 when a Geauga County woman, 27, noticed a camera hidden in the ceiling of a tanning booth she had just used.

She reported the presence of the camera to Hargraves. He asked her to fill out a report in the club's office and also told her he would get a ladder and remove the camera.

But, according to the police report the woman filed with Solon police, Hargraves returned and asked the victim if she was sure she saw anything because he looked in the ceiling and could not find a camera.

The woman immediately became suspicious and called police. Solon Police questioned Hargraves, then charged him Feb. 13 with voyeurism.
