Health & Fitness Calendar: Run through Davies Plantation

The UPS Ultimate 10K and 5K was held recently at St. Philip Episcopal Church in the Davies Plantation subdivision. The race is put on by the Davies Plantation Homeowners Association, and the Memphis Runners Track Club. The two races had about 625 runners and walkers and raised more than $15,000 for Youth Villages. Photos, from top: The siren signals the start of the race. Family Health and Fitness Expo

Saturday's Family Health and Fitness Expo in downtown Fresno targeted the Hispanic community.Statistics from the Centers for Disease Control show that one in five Hispanics has high blood pressure and that Hispanics are two times more likely to develop diabetes than Caucasians.
