Health & Fitness Calendar: Keeping fit in Clarksdale
Memphis Runners Track Club Women's Running and Walking Program 2008: MRTC offers a free women's running clinic and 10-week training program each year. Designed for beginner and intermediate runners. At the end of the sessions, each participant will be able to complete a 5K. Program begins with information gathering and lecture, 6:30 p.m. today at Agricenter Amphitheater (off Germantown Parkway). Training sessions begin July 7, held Mondays at 6:30 p.m. at the Agricenter or Shelby Farms. Program concludes with a 5K run Sept. 6 at Audubon Park. Keeping fit in Clarksdale
For the past 10 years, Kim Wong (above center in black shirt), has taught exercise classes at Clarksdale Baptist Church, where he is a member. Some of the participants are shown at left. The class is a combination of many forms of exercise including yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, karate and women's self defense, said Wong. "I donate my time to this church to help people stay healthy."
