Health and Fitness Fair May 17
Over 100 Exhibitors Will Be on
Audrey Avenue from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Once again the Oyster Bay Chamber of Commerce is teaming up with New York State Senator Carl Marcellino to present a winning combination of events to motivate you toward your health and fitness goals!
So when you're feeling guilty about not yet being in shape for bathing suit season - attend the 5th Annual Health and Fitness Fair, of course!
On Saturday, May 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain date of May 18), Audrey Avenue in Oyster Bay will be the home to over 100 exhibitors as they demonstrate their specialties. Perhaps you'll climb inside the U.S. Army Hummer or join a Yoga Rocks class.
Maybe you'll watch as Atlantic Steamer Fire Company demonstrates the Jaws of Life while simulating a rescue from a car crash. Oyster Bay Fire Company will perform BP screenings, CPR demos and give ambulance tours. Fire safety will be demonstrated by Hicksville Fire Department through the use of its Smokehouse.
Learn more about nutrition, laser cosmetics, detoxifying your body and holistic health care. A favorite spot will be the "Smoothy Station" hosted by Healthy Living Therapeutics and they guarantee the kids' favorite will be inflatables provided by Gooseberry Grove and Inflatables by Marty. P&R Entertainment will fill the street with just the right beat to keep us motivated to move! And if a gym workout is what you're after, be sure to visit Fitness Together personal training or Evolution Fitness to see what they offer. From dentists to chiropractors to the prevention of breast cancer, there will be something for everyone.
The Verizon Wireless "Hopeline" Program focuses on the prevention of domestic violence by collecting used cell phones and accessories. To benefit this cause, please bring your used cell phones and accessories and drop them in the Hopeline boxes located at the Verizon booth and the event entry at South Street.
Brooke Jackman Run
Preceding the event is the 3rd Annual Brooke Jackman Run/Walk for Literacy, beginning at 10:15 a.m. at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School. A one-quarter mile Fun Run for Future Olympians begins at 9:45 a.m. for children 10 and under. Support this important charity and then follow the action directly to the Health Fair. For more information on the Brooke Jackman Foundation, visit www.brookejackmanfoundation.org.
The Brooke Jackman Foundation is a not-for-profit organization created in response to the 9/11 World Trade Center attack that claimed the life of 23-year-old Oyster Bay resident Brooke Jackman. Its mission is to honor Brooke's deep love of reading and interest in helping children by creating and supporting programs enhancing the literacy and self-esteem of children.
Proceeds from the race will directly support the Brooke Pack, Project Brooke and Brooke's Books projects offered to children in need.
Whether it's live entertainment on the ShowMobile stage, fitness demonstrations, health screenings or nutritious refreshments that interest you, we hope you will join us at this year's annual kick-off to a healthy summer: the 5th Annual Health & Fitness Fair!
